Saint Patrick's Day Parade 2010

Hey Skaters and fellow HACK-
Our application is in to participate in this years Saint Patrick's Day Parade. This  will be the 51th annual. It's a very nice and enjoyable parade. I didn't see anything about a awards ceremony after the parade this year.

FYI's- Be ready to show proof of insurance for your art car. Some art cars were asked last year.
No open containers in art cars or while skating. Organizers WILL stop you at the parade starting line. Put your beverage in a cup.

THIS IS JUST A MARK YOUR CALENDAR REMINDER. MORE INFO AS THE DATE GETS CLOSER.
Such as, pre parade at Jimmy's Ice House; parade line up; who's going to bring the beer.
But if you like you can respond to this and I'll put you on the list.

Hope all can make it. "Be Irish for the day."

=====================

Parade Info:

Date: Saturday, March 13, 2010 Rain or shine.
Where: Downtown
Line up: 11:00 am Minute Maid Park
Proof of Insurance: The "Section Marshall" may ask to see your ID card. This is between you and the Marshall. I KNOW NOTHING!

Driving the Dragon is fun and all, but I miss Skating Parades. I plan to do more of it. Thanksgiving was a blast, and reminded me what I was missing. Bring noise makers. I'm bringing a tambourine.  Bring whiskey also. hahahhaha

St Patrick's day Parade...either meet up in the Heights with the reprobates that frequent this site and skate to town the morning of the parade or show up at the staging area for the parade. Check the first post in this thread for actual details.

Re: Saint Patrick's Day Parade 2010

Damn, no float, how do we carry Beers?? Hey I could take the New Woodie Float, and park it, and not use it in the parade, maybe.--- I want beers, all day long. Taking the Woodie seems better all the time. Park it under the bridge, do the Parade, then got Beers on Ice. No sound system though---yet. the Guys that took the Griffin, say they can hook it up for me. We shall see. the excitement is building. I'm nearly moist already. when is it again?? I better look.---OK, two weeks, plenty of time.

Damn I miss the St. Paddy's Day Parade.  In fact I miss being in ALL the Parades.

Sometimes this County Life up here sucks.

I now have Paul Screens "Woodie" up and running. It will haul all kinds of stuff. Just what we needed. the plans are to make that Chuck wagon out of it, like I've talking about all these years, but lacked a proper platform. Now we have one.

Re: Saint Patrick's Day Parade 2010

Looking at the weather forcast for the St. Patty's day parade...bright sun shine with a high of 68.  Wouldn't that be nice after last years nasty rain?  Of course you can trust the weatherman to be right this far out....  Maybe get to wear my lusty bar wench costume again this year...Buddy - you gonna zip me up again?

If the Parade is at 11:00 won't that be cutting it close, if we plan on having a drink?

Re: Saint Patrick's Day Parade 2010

Got a case of beads coming.  Hopefully there will be someone to tote them downtown! Don't think I can wear 840 strands of beads around my neck & skate at the same time!
